Sterling silver dressmaking/tailor’s shears, handcrafted from solid eco-silver. The scissors are made in two parts, then riveted together, so they open and close like real scissors (the blades have been purposefully blunted so they won’t actually cut anything though!)

I initially made these scissors as part of a custom 60th birthday commission for a super-talented seamstress, but so many people have contacted me to ask if they can order the scissors, I’ve now made them available to purchase.

The silver scissors are handmade to order in my London studio and polished to a high shine. They are then strung on a quality, British manufactured sterling silver trace chain, which is available in a standard 18″ length, a longer 24″ length and an extra-long 30” length.

Sterling silver sewing themed necklace, featuring a mini thimble, tailor’s shears and a cotton reel, handcrafted from solid sterling silver.

The thimble and thread spool were initially carved from jeweller’s wax before being cast into solid sterling silver. The scissors are made in two parts, then riveted together, so they open and close like real scissors (the blades have been purposefully blunted so they won’t actually cut anything though!)

The cotton part of the reel is covered with a thick coating of 22ct yellow gold, and the thimble is set with your choice of 2mm diameter precious gemstone.
