Bespoke Tree of Life Necklace

Every so often, a commission arrives on my workbench that I particularly love. This bespoke Tree of Life necklace was a joy from start to finish, created to celebrate a client’s 50th birthday.

The necklace was commissioned by her younger brother (I know - adorable), who wanted something that would capture not just the milestone, but the meaning behind it. deeply personal and full of meaning. Together, we designed a tree with five roots, five branches, and five leaves on each branch, each set of five representing the five decades of her life so far, celebrating life, love and growth.

The design began life as a hand-carved wax model— a slow and delicate process involving tiny tools, patience, good lighting, and occasional cursing. Once I was happy with the details, it was cast into recycled sterling silver for sustainable sparkle, then carefully polished to a mirror shine. The result was a finished piece created using ancient craftsmanship and classic symbolism that felt personal yet timeless.

When the finished necklace was presented, I am told that the birthday girl and her family were delighted, which is honestly the best part of my job! Seeing a story that began as a sketch come to life and be forever captured in silver is the true beauty of bespoke jewellery.
