Well, I have to say, I was entirely happy to see the back of 2019! What. A. Year. Not only did my lying, cheating douchebag of an ex spectacularly detonate my heart and financially ruin me and my business, but I was also diagnosed with cancer. Oh, and just to really rub salt in the wound, Boris Johnson got elected and they stopped making Tooty Frooties. Honestly, could the universe just not for five minutes?
Read MoreAnother recent custom roller derby skate necklace, with the skater’s number as an additional charm. Both handmade from recycled sterling eco-silver.
I do enjoy making these custom skate numbers, even though they take quite a long time to cut out and carve from the solid silver sheet!
Read MoreI’m back at the Walthamstow Garden Party again this year on Saturday 13th July with the E17 Designers crew. We usually have sunshine and always have cake, so come and say hi!
Read MoreMy lovely friend turned 40 this month and I wanted to make her something a little bit special to mark the occasion. For many years, she wore a simple, delicate gold chain with a tiny emerald strung on it pretty much every time I saw her, but it had recently broken.
Read MoreIf you've known me for some time, you are probably well versed in my web design woes. I started back in 2010 with the platform, Moonfruit (is that even still a thing..?) It was a silly program and the site looked pretty but lacked e-commerce ability and looked TERRIBLE on mobile phones!
Read MoreGreetings lovely readers and a belated welcome to a brand new year. I hope your 2019 is going better than mine.
At the beginning of January, traditionally I take a reflective look back at the year. At my successes and failures, the things I have learned and my plans for the future. Whilst procrastinating filling in my tax return, obvs.
Read MoreAnd we’re done, phew! Last orders posted out, Christmas presents purchased and fairy lights up.
The boy is out on yet another work Christmas do this evening, so I have poured myself a prosecco and will be chilling out with the cats in front of a Christmas movie. Or Die Hard. Which may or may not be a Christmas movie depending on which side you take in the annual Twitter argument about this.

Today is your very last day to get your orders in for pre-Christmas UK delivery.
Read MoreI have been ridiculously busy during the last half of this year, with wonderful things like holidays and weddings, but also with rather more mundane (yet frustratingly time consuming!) house renovation stuff. Consequently, I have scaled back my Christmas jewellery events and am only doing two markets this Christmas.
Read MoreI’ve been doing a lot of custom silver roller derby skate numbers in the run up to Christmas, but haven’t had time to take any pictures! This one was for a birthday, so it’s fine for me to share now.
Read MoreYes, it’s that time of year again (I can’t believe it’s come around so quickly!)
As I hand make each piece of jewellery just for you when you order, I need to allow enough time to complete your piece and have it winging its way to you before the Royal Mail deadlines.
Read MoreOur lovely friends got married at Villa Palazzola just outside Rome a few weeks ago. Having spent an amazing day exploring Rome, a friend who was also attending the wedding kindly offered to drive us to the Villa. Driving in Rome is a once in a lifetime experience, partly on the grounds that you may not survive it!
Read MoreA few weeks ago, we went on holiday. It was much needed. I have been spending so much time trying to juggle everything - working on the house, my day job and running my business, as the boy has been super-busy studying for important work things for the past year or so - that I was a little burned out.
Read MoreI was recently asked by the boy’s lovely mum to make a special necklace for her sister’s 60th birthday. As the birthday girl is an amazingly talented creator of interior furnishings, the design brief was a trio of sewing charms in sterling silver - a thimble, a cotton reel and scissors.
Read MoreI'll be at the Walthamstow Garden Party in Lloyd Park again this year, on Saturday 14th July, with the lovely E17 Designers. Come and visit us in the marquee as you come through the gates. The weather forecast is scorchio, so bonus points if you bring us ice-cream or a cold glass of Pimms!
Read MoreYou may remember that earlier this year I found an old stash of bullet gemstones from my post-uni days. Well, I've finally made some jewellery with them. I had another go at some wax turning (so fun, so messy!) to make some little settings of different sizes to house the bullet gems.
Read MoreA previous customer asked if I could make her some baby initial letter charms to be added to her star necklace. We had a chat about fonts and sizes and decided on Copperplate Gothic at a teeny tiny 7mm in height
Read MoreI mentioned in a previous blog post that something exciting was appearing over the horizon. Well, here it is! I am very pleased to say that I have been selected, along with over 120 talented designer-makers, for Handmade in Britain’s new online marketplace, Handmade in Britain Online.
Read MoreI really enjoyed creating the moon crater texture on the recent moon and cloud necklace commission, so I’ve been having a bit more of a play with it
Read MoreWhen the boy asked me what I wanted for my 40th birthday (40 - eek!) I really couldn’t think of anything I needed, so I thought it would be nice if we went away somewhere instead
